"If you want" and "We already did that"

Cecilia cracks me up. I am amazed at her language development. At 37 months she is to have 800-900 words in her vocabulary. She has that... easy! Here are a few things she says that just crack me up.

She will offer me something, for example, an opportunity to lay on her pillow and will say, "Mum, you can lay on my pillow... if you want." The other day, we Skyped with my friend, Edouard, in Senegal. Cecilia was totally into it. She said to Edouard, "Edward, you can come to my house and play with my game... if you want." Edouard went into an explanation that it was not possible. He lived in Senegal on the West coast of Africa. She lived in America. Later that day, Cecilia told her dad, "Edwards not coming a my house cause I live in America."

When she wants to rope you into doing something but doesn't want you to think it will be too taxing, she will say, "lil' bit" She pronounces it so cute. Almost pathetic. For example, she will want me to lay down with her at nap time and will say, "Mum, can you lay down with me for a lil' bit?"

My mom took her to see Marmaduke last month. She called up on the phone on Sunday to see if Cecilia wanted to go see Shrek. I put her on the phone and heard my mom ask, "Do you want to go to the movies with Bubbe today?" Cecilia replied, "We already did that" Apparently she thought going to the movies was a once in a lifetime occurrence.

How cute!

They certainly have some amazing language skills at the age of 3 and can say some pretty cute things.
