The Christmas dust has slightly settled. Dance Star Mickey was a hit. The pink, light-up Cowboy boots... not so much. I am glad I spent a whole $55 on them. :-( The amount of Christmas gifts we received, once again, was ridiculous.
We went to church Christmas Eve. Cecilia did not have to go the bathroom before we left home (the church is exactly 3/10 mile from our house, literally at the end of our lane). Immediately upon arrival she had to go. Naturally the bathroom is located behind the pulpit so we had to march up front to get there. Not a big deal as the service had not started yet. 20 minutes into church, Cecilia announced, "I have to POOP!" so back up front we marched to visit the facilities a second time. One the way back, Cecilia made it a point to make sure everyone saw her.
During the service the preacher spoke of baby Jesus. Cecilia "whispered" to me, "You'd better tell that man Jesus is dead!" A few moments later he referred to Jesus as Jesus Christ. Cecilia was appalled. She said as loud as she could, "Mum! That man said Jesus CHRIST."
The highlight of Cecilia's Christmas Eve service was when we lit our candles. It was unfortunate that the greeter handed Cecilia her own candle when we arrived. Not sure what he was thinking?!? We managed to get by with lighting it and promptly having her blow it out.
We had an eventful holiday season. Two of our employees and my mother-in-law went to the hospital. (not connected in any way). All of Scott's family was home and so there were oodles of cousins to play with. I was so glad when the new year came! 2011 just HAS to be better!
